I took quite a while to get her on the cub, but Phil was able to make it happen. Thanks, buddy!

I am beginning to become interested in the larger Letter Series tractors. Gord had his H here for almost 2 years and last summer we got to get it up and running again. Hopefully it will be back this summer for a bit. They sure have a lot of power and have some real uses. Too big for me to ever own one I think, but I am beginning to like em... :) a LOT :) :D :!: Glad you were able to finally get your H ... enjoy it :{_}:

I promised some pictures of some goodies that I got along with the H. Here is one of the prizes, not just for the contents, but since they are original manuals, complete with leather binder.

Here are some pictures of the service manuals in the binder. Most of them are not cub related, but still cool. Rudi, if you would like/need any of these, let me know and I will make an effort to copy them for you. I'm sure Bob will give me some guidance if you need some of them.

Can you say GOLD MINE :?: :D 8) I love that leather binder. Is it original or have you cleaned it at all? I have an original IH leather type binder, but it needs some TLC -- probably either Bag Balm or Dubbin I think. I like what is inside it too :D

Not sure what the PO did to it, if anything. I have not done anything to it. What you see in the pic is exactly as it came. It looks so good, I don't know if I want to do anything to it. Your thoughts, please.

I did a little googling on the subject. Neats-foot/bag balm is a no-no and that would apply as well to Dubbin. Anhy petroleum based substance needs to stay a long way away from that book. Same would apply to beeswax, parafin and other products that one would normally use on leather. I would even stay away from my favourite which is carnauba. It seems that the best way to keep this book in good condition is to wipe it occasionally with a slightly dampened lint free cloth, do not alow moisture to remain on the leather. If it gets dirty, a very light mix of soap and water can be used to clean it. After reading a bit, I would not be using the materials I would normally use on leather. Leather bound books are a totally different kettle of fish. TLC is the best route to keep this in top shape. It really is gorgeous. :D
 
I'm late to the thread, but I must say that is a dandy of a tractor. Congrats on the excellent find. That's the second letter series tractor extraction from Arkansas in as many weeks. Both were beauties. You guys have the radar tuned in perfectly. :lol: :lol:

They both came from the same house. Dad sent me pics of the H and M. I knew he was getting the M and the H was still available. The rest is history

And I should add the guy that lives in that house is the perfect gentleman. It was indeed a treat to to meet him and enjoy his hospitality. Very enjoyable business relation. Great to know there are still people out there like that, especially in light of the bad deal our buddy David (Dirty Red) experienced recently.

You are absolutely right about that. I still talk to the PO of Number 2 and he is in Missouri
