Shipping website

[Bob Perry]

I do not have any experience with it, but there's an interesting website, where people post items they need moved, and people with trucks and trailers bid how much they would charge.

http://www.uship.com

I am sure that just like craigslist there will be scammers and unscrupulous folks out there, but many of us travel with empty trucks on our way to CubFests or other events, this could potentially be a source of income.

And of course it works the other way too, if you had an item to move, let people bid on it.

But somehow there's a trust involved, and one can only imagine where this could end up.

Interesting.

Go to "Find loads" if you're curious what people need moved.

I know several tractor friends that have utilized uship with great results. They got their stuff hauled at a very reasonable rate.

I have never had any experience with USHIP, but I do see it recommended by members on YTMAG and REDPOWERMAGAZINE.COM

A&E has a series called "Shipping Wars" where haulers bid on items on UShip. It doesn't appear that UShip exercises any quility control on the shippers. Anyone with a truck and trailer can get in the act. One guy was hauling things with no insurance and no trailer plates. It may be cheap but you get what you pay for.
