Screen for Cub Grill

I have 4 '55 Cubs that are used to mow our property ( approx 8 acres of our 20). As you probably know, they have the 11-bar grill with the welded-wire screen behind it. When the weather is dry, cut grass blows all around and goes through that 1/4" screen, and packs into the radiator, requiring removal of the grill to allow cleaning. To avoid that hassle, I decided to add an easily cleanable/removable exterior screen, and it only took me about 1 hour to make all four out of available materials.
Cheap fiberglass screen material I had:

Free paint stirrer, turned so logo was on unseen side!

After stapling, drove tips of staples that protrude down into wood so they wouldn't scratch the paint:

Using "baby" bungees, I hooked one hook through the screen and around the stir stick, and the other on the Coil Bracket:

With fewer options on the left side, I hooked the bungee to the carb intake hose clamp:

I've mowed for several hours now, and all I had to do was sweep the grass off the screen with a small broom!

No problem, so far. The screen is small enough that most grass doesn’t get stuck in it. I check now and then to ensure the screen isn't matted by tbe grass, restricting airflow.

The problem I had before was the grass was going through the larger mesh screen, and completely matting against the radiator. To clean it off I had to remove the 11-bar grill, not something I wanted to repeatedly do while mowing. I can now carry a little wisk broom, and just stop the tractor and brush any grass off.

As I said, so far no problem with overheating. :D

Any worries about the screen rubbing and messing up that nice paint job?
It probably could after a while...but the screen is rather soft, and I am hoping that if the bungees keep it quite tight, it won't "flutter" enough to do much damage. At least, less damge than the packed radiator or the scratches caused taking the grill off/on. :D
