If you want to hide the extra hole, you could easily Loctite a small piece of threaded bolt into the hole and cover it with JB or Bondo and then touch up with paint.

That's exactly what I am going to do, kinda. Thank You Bob!

Left Steering Knuckle Plug.jpg
7/16" fine threaded plug, a little short, with a dob of Permatex liquid metal filler,
Left Steering Knuckle Plug LM.jpg
...since the spindle has a thin coat of grease, when the time comes to remove the arm, it shouldn't be a problem.

Left side plugged,

Filled with liquid metal,

Did the same on the right side with a 3/8" coarse threaded plug.

and filled,

Touch up with paint tomorrow!

Ok. I have a friend that is fixing a Cub where I'm trying to help him figure out if his bushing are within spec or too far out. I'll make a seperate (searchable) post about it.

Chase,

According to the parts catalog, the spec for the thrust washer 350890 R1 is as follows,

28.65 mm ID x 35.01 mm OD x 28.57 mm L

I looked at this on the link you shared and was wondering why they have it listed as metric when it's not, lol. Converted to inch it's:
1.128" X 1.378" X 1.125"

Rocky is now supporting his own weight, :{_}:

Rocky fresh air.jpg

even though he is missing tie rods that I misplaced somewhere :?

I noticed the front end seemed to be higher than the back end

Rocky Level.jpg

Is this due to the 8.3-24 rear tires? or did I inadvertently lift the front end? I read on here somewhere that 9-24 rear tires would "correct" that.

I would say it is negligible and shouldn't matter. Not sure if the 9.5 tires correct it or not. You can't tell with the naked eye.

Hats off to you for such an amazing finish!!! Didn't I read where you had the entire tractor powder coated, piece by piece?

Most of the tractor...the engine , hydraulics, and diff/transmission housing were not powder coated due to the impracticality, for me, of removing all the oil and grease. Other small items like the generator bracket, doglegs, springs, clips etc., were hand painted with a 2 part aliphatic polyurethane (acrylic polyol blend and hardener).

The powder coating does make for some good looking parts, and is tough too! However, I have found it's Achilles heel - acetone

Very nice!

Just curious....are you going to go the extra step and insert new corks in the implement holes? Also, I would order one of those custom dealer decals from Maple Hunter and put your name on it. You deserve it!

Corks are going in. I have a new, blank serial number plate and originally thought about putting something like, F-CUB "ROCK Edition" on it, but now not sure if that is the best place for it. A replica, with original plate information only, is the direction we are leaning now. It would be nice to include a ROCK emblem somewhere, semi-permanently, in case someone in the future wants to remove it.

Any and all ideas on the best location and non-destructive fastening method for a small, but visible emblem, will be much appreciated.

Could you have your local sign shop make up a "decal" for each side?

Edit: Take the corks to your powdercoater and see what his expression is. :D

Brings back memories Dale! I made dress uniform name plates, similar to those, while out processing at Fort Dix in '85. Oh, the smell of freshly cut plastic 8)

The serial number plate is for my '62...forgot I ordered it and it got mixed in with Rocky's stuff. Here is a picture of original plate,

Not sure if the decal had dropped Deering when Rocky came off the production line, or not.
