Grille swap

I love that look....it looks so classic.. I'll have to find me one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Lol

Yeah, I bought mine at the Red Power show in Bloomsburg a few years ago and it wasn't cheap plus it need a complete redo. But,,,, it sure is purdy! :D

Hi, just a quick update... I was able to find me a 1955 grille for a pretty good price yesterday. It will be here in a couple days!!

Ooooo...my FAVORITE grill!!!

BTW, if it needs reforming of any of the bars, there is a company that makes the "Dolly's" for just that purpose! Don't have the info right now, but if you Google it, they pop up... different sets for the different grills.

Is it Sandsdahl Restoration?? I just happen to come across them while I was searching for a grille online.

Yes! That's it. I had bought a set for my Super A grill that was a total mess, and with patience & time, it came out looking brand new!
I believe the SA set had 3 pieces, and the cub set has only 2.
You just use a few taps at a time...slow & steady.

My grille came today. Here's a little mock up photo. My little girl wanted in the picture. Lol. It needs a little tlc but I think it'll work... it was the only 11 bar girlle I could find that I could afford lol

That was a SUPER STEAL!!!

when I was working on mine during refurbishing, I needed to replace the torn up mesh wire behind the grill, and decided to paint it black, and THEN install it behind the freshly red painted grill. I think it nicely increased the visual "depth" of the whole thing.

(Looks like radioguy41 may have done the same!)

You can find 1/4" hardware cloth at Ace, Home Depot, etc. If you want 5 squares/inch, Steiner carries it. Probably other sources too, like McMaster-Carr.
