fast hitch points

I'm looking for the dimensions of the upright portion of the points that stabilize the point in the fast hitch. I found one listing in the manual server under "How Do I ? Resource Links" titled "Implement and Part Sketches" but was unable to open it when I clicked on it. does anyone have these dimensions or sketches and what have people made them from. It looks like they could be made from square or rectangular tube steel cut length wise on a diagonal. But what size square/rectangular tubing is it. thank you, Scot.

If you want a sample... I have the Woods mower torn down and you are more than welcome to measure it up. The York rake is home-made but may work too....

I have got to get over there sometime soon because I also needed the dimensions for the fast hitch helper spring and rod assembly.

I think I have a spare helper spring assembly, but it's for a Lo Boy. Check the manual. Yours if you need it. I can throw it in the truck and you can look at it at Cecil's and we can compare to his Cub if you want.

The Fast-Hitch helper spring assemblies for the Farmall and the Lo-Boy are very different. I think the spring itself may be the same but none of the other parts interchange.

Scot,
Cecil's 'Betsy' has a fast-hitch on it so you can take measurements on Saturday.

You can also measure the upright on Cecil's LF-194 Moldboard Plow. I have a small fast-hitch prong 'thingy' :) I bought from Ralph that I can bring as well.

See you Saturday.
Peter

Jim I thought that the only thing that was different was the rear fender bracket for it. which I already have. Scot

You can also buy them at http://www.agrisupply.com type in fast hitch in the search box, if thats what I think you're talking about.
Thanks oronc, thats where I was planning to buy the point from, the problem is the up right portion of the point that stabilizes it in the hitch doesn't come with it. I believe you have to make it yourself. Scot

Fast Hitches are very different between a Cub and Lo Boy, as Jim says. I can tell ya that it's no picnic to put one on a Lo Boy.... and I was slacking on the pictures when I took it off, bad mistake! Even the fender is giving me a fit.

Larry,
Before I took the fast-hitch off the '57 loboy I took quite a few pictures. I can burn a CD for you if you'd like and bring it on Saturday.
Let me know.
Peter

The part numbers for the rod and spring for both helper spring assemblies are identical. The only difference is the rod guide.

Thats what I thought Don, but I left the parts manual in the truck and was to lazy to run out and get it. Scot

You're right. As Don said, the rods are the same part number. I thought they were different lengths.

Scot,

The Parts Catalog I used is on Rudi's manual server. :D
I actually went there and while I patiently waited for the entire parts manual to down load my computer suddenly shut off.  :censored:  Its never done that before. froze occasionally but never shut off with no warning and it even has a battery backup. But still shut off.

So we got that all straightned out.... Scot gets the spring and rod (did I warn ya, it's from the very rusty Lo Boy??).

Thanks for the offer Peter, but I have the fast hitch all painted and mounted.... but the right fender just doesn't seem to want to fit. I will look at Pris' Lo Boy at Cecils.

By the way Larry, I bought that bracket that goes on the fender for the Loboy fast hitch helper spring by accident. if you need it, its yours. Scot
