Just wanted to say thanks again, for a great time yesterday. Nice meeting all you folks and getting such a great hands-on schooling in Cub maintenance!
There was a comment yesterday at lunch about the wire joining the governor from the carb linkage (as opposed to a rod). Unlike the carbs I saw yesterday,
the linkage on mine is to the outside, and offset from the governor by about 1 1/4". The wire runs around the hose. I'll replace it with a (suitably bent) rod.
When I mentioned that the hydraulic control unit for the loader was a Vickers, the name didn't seem to register with anyone. Found this:
Precision Fluid Power offers Vickers hydraulics, including pumps, valves and cylinders, both new and remanufactured, in addition to hydraulic repair services.

Noticed another thing when I looked at my Cub today. The hoisting mechanism for the rear implements is completely different. The hydraulic unit pushes a a 2"-wide linkage bar the runs to the left of the operator (just below shoulder-level). This, in turn, rotates a shaft behind the operators back, which raises/lowers a pair of floating arms, suspended from high up, running down close to the ground. The bottom of the arms have holes to bolt on the implement (or, more likely, run a shaft thru). I guess mine is just an oddball... (nothing wrong with that )
