Cub mower 42” vs 59”

It is just what I found out here and am passing on what I learned from using both models in my mowing here ----- your results may vary!
My Woods 315 behind the Oliver 1800 does a WAY better job mowing than either the 42 or 59! --- The Woods C-80 Three point jobber on the IH 2444 does a "lawn quality " mowing job too. AND fast!
Over the years I used several different mowers , big and small and all of them were different.
Another good one we had way back when was the JD gyro-mor --- only 5' but did lawn mowing with it.
When it comes to mowing I GOTTA have something fast and do a decent job! I have important stuff to do and mowing is NOT one of them. Its a total waste of time and money!

As I mentioned before in this thread, I use a 4.5" pulley with my 60" C3 mower on my 1948 Cub. The 4.5" pulley delivers a lot more torque to the mower than the original pulley. The engine will not "bog down", even in tall grass. Of course, the blade speed is slower, but the cut is still good. Keep the blades sharp.
