I watched a guy do this in reverse up at Lanesville a few years back...scared me to death!
The first time I saw someone do it, I was sure it was some kind of sorcery. But it's so easy even I can do it! You do need good brakes (and a slow reverse is helpful) to unload with two ramps.I know I'm not experienced enough to do it, but I've seen guys load and unload narrow front tractors with just the two ramps. Driving the front tire(s) onto one ramp and then when the front is on the trailer, turning the tractor to where the back tires will go up the ramps. I'm just not experienced enough to do it with the narrow front tractors I had, so I bought a trailer with the third ramp.
I agree. I routinely load and unload a Farmall H pulling a trailer plow. I do have to climb down and move the left ramp in because the plow is narrower than the tractor. The right wheel follows the right tractor tire.Backing off is the easy half. Going on, you have to get the approach angle almost perfect for the rears to hit the ramps.
Hey, Bill. Good to see you on this forum. I enjoy your Youtube videos. I can't wait for the backing off video.I will record a video of unloading it when I get it back home. The video is of me on my Farmall HBacking off is just as easy, key thing is take it s.l.o.w.
I can't believe it got over 20k views in under 48 hours, this was just going to be filler on my channel LOL.
Yes I'm very happy my trailer is low as it is. Doesn't work great as a car hauler because you can't open the doors once you have a car on, but it's great for hauling equipment. The higher the trailer, the scarier the dismount for sure!Cool. Nice job. Man, I hate that moment when backing off a deck over trailer and the rears are about at the bottom and the tractor is at that steep angle.
