Model 100 McCormick manure spreader chain raising control rod
When disengaging my chain raising assembly, the chain raising control arm hits the chain and is putting pressure so I have to force it a little to lock. Is this normal?

Make of the 100 model chain raising -- something? Is this a chain hoist?

Re: Model 100 McCormick manure spreader chain raising control rod
Looking at my model 200 spreader it looks like it is missing a washer that appears to be twice as wide as a normal washer, which when put on the 100 will be enough to move the chain raising assembly out and chain should clear when disengaged.

There is a parts list with the 100 manual under PDF manuals.

Nearest tractor dealership, any make, will have shim washers. You need to determine the needed shim thickness and hole diameter.

I checked the manual for size but couldn't tell. I'm going to take off other assembly and see if that washer works this weekend. Thanks. I'll keep you posted.

By putting on the spacer, I realize that it just moves the whole assembly away from box. It is basically all redone and had been painted a few years ago. I was just trying to get it to work properly. All else works fine just that when disengaged it the rod is tight on chain. Oh well. Thanks

Re: Model 100 McCormick manure spreader chain raising control rod
Ok. So I put the spacer on after removing assembly, put assembly back on. The spacer gave me enough room to bend brace (that holds the rod in place) towards box of spreader and wala everything works fine without rubbing on anything else. Back together and now to do a dry run and put some manure in to spread.
