Re: Shockin' Find
Local Conoco sells lead free gasoline. Problem for me is that it's considerably higher in price than ethanol regular.

Re: Shockin' Find
I think the price is the shockin find! Stations near me that offer pure gasoline charge $4.25 per gallon.

Re: Shockin' Find
It is not cheap!!!---for sure, BUT for all my chainsaws, I am willing to choke the price!!!----K-1 kerosene here is $ 4.99.9, and I can't do much in the shed without a bit of heat.---I do have to keep a little on hand during the real cold part of the year in case the well and the basement pipes freeze.----also for K-1 heater in house IF there is power failure.
Life gets expensive!! thanks; sonny
P.S. John!!!--- I could set up a gas runner!---Like the ole moonshine, only do it with good gas!!!! LOL!!!!----Virginia says YEA RIIIIGHT! LOL!!!!

Re: Shockin' Find
From personal experience I have found that the low sulfur highway diesel burns as clean as or maybe even a little cleaner than the K-1 in the torpedo heaters. I have been told by others that it also works good in the wick type heaters, but the wick does have to be replaced a little more often.
As to leaded gas, it has not been available in this area for several years, but I mix Stabil in my gas when I buy it, and have not had any problem with weed eaters, 2 cycle tiller, or chainsaw setting for several months at a time and starting right up. Same goes for 4 cycle stuff, tractors, big tillers, ZTR, generators, etc. When the unleaded first came out I had some problems with the carb diaphragms and fuel lines on the older stuff, but once they were replaced they have gone for years with a lot of neglect and no problems.
