From Vermont news --
CABOT - Vermont State Police responded to 103 Jug Brook Rd in Cabot for a fatal tractor accident. Robert Eastman, 70, of Cabot was pinned under his 1950s-era International Harvester tractor in the brook on his property.
Eastman was working near his driveway when he lost control of the tractor on an embankment. The tractor rolled over and down the embankment into the brook, pinning Eastman underneath. He was pronounced dead on scene as a result of injuries sustained in the accident, police said.
No foul play is suspected. At this time Eastman's death is considered an accidental death pending the results of the autopsy.
Perhaps someone in VT knows more, such as which IH '50s tractor, wheel layout, etc.

Re: Died under the tractor
It does not say what kind of tractor he was driving, but working on a sloping banks is something that scare me on a cub. If you park your cub beside a modern tractor, the cub is nearly as tall, but only a little over half as wide, which makes it easier to tip sideways. A stream bank which may give way or be soft and slick scares me even more.

Re: Died under the tractor
When I as a young lad in the 60's the farmer next door died in a similar accident. In his case he got off with the equipment running - it took off - he got on a tried to save it. He saved nothing and lost his life in the process.
Our farm his hilly and before coyotes killed off all the woodchucks - we had to be very careful on ALL hills. The rule was you go up it or down it - not across it. That was with the Cub, Regular, Super H's, M's and the F30. It's a part of driving tractors on any unflat surface.
