Re: hydrolic Valve Location
You need to obtain the parts manual and service manual for the tractor. Available from the advertisers on this site.
There are several different configurations and parts changes to the tractors hydraulic system.

Re: hydrolic Valve Location
You didn't mention what options the tractor may have.
A bare bones 154 had the hydraulic pump, filter (beside seat), valve, and a single action cylinder under the tractor.
It could also have the following hydraulic options:
A 3-point hitch with a cylinder behind the seat just Tee'd in with the other cylinder.
A Hydraulic Selector Valve to choose the active cylinder (Instead of the Tee)

Re: hydrolic Valve Location
My 154 has two hydraulic selector valves. In addition to the features listed by Outdoors4evr, my 154 has hydraulic couplings located on the right side of the dash.
