Page 22 of the Cub 144 Cultivator Manual shows the setup for Hilling Up - Which I totally understand. Figure 28 shows the setup for Barring-Off. I called Dad he has never heard the term.
What is Barring-Off and what crop or circumstance would you use Barring-Off

Sometimes when you have a wet spring, and the grass or weeds start to take over you can bar off the row to clean it out. With the plants left on a small ridge, you get that old tool that we all love (HOE) and the small bar of soil, and weeds can be pulled out toward the middles. I know I didn't explain very good but I hope you get the idea.
