Getting ready to change my manifold and I was wondering if any of you guys had any suggestions on the best way to remove the 2 inner nuts that hold the manifold onto the head?
They are a 9/16" hex nut and my end wrench seems too long to get on them and turn them.
What have you used?

Make yourself a sandwich, have one of your favorite brews, take a few deep breaths and dive right in. You'll be able to make 1/12 a revolution of the nut with each bite and all the while you'll be wishing the nuts weren't fine thread. It will help if you have your favorite music playing in the background.
Before you put it back together be sure to chase the threads on both the stud and the nut to at least make things go back together easier.
Do you have any kids to help a bit with the monotany?

I took a cheap boxed end wrench, put it in a vise and bent a 90 degree as close as I could to the boxed end. I have had to use a short cheater pipe before on the stubborn ones....but they usually releases from the block side. You can get a fair amount of swing with the bent wrench. Works good for me.

After my favorite beverage, I wont care if it gets done or not and there is no way the kids are getting involved. The 25 year old would help but he is busy, the 21 year old is too busy with her daughter and then there are the 16 year old twin girls............what more can I say???
I see that none of you have a sure fired way. I figured that at least one of you would suggest curring out the manifold since I am changing it anyway
