Cylinder Hone Grit

What grit ball hone is recommended for deglazing
and giving the cylinder walls an appropriate crosshatch?

Different piston ring manufacturers will recommend different grit #s and different ring type will specify different grits, if memory serves me correctly, 300 grit is about the coarsest recommendation, some as fine as 600 for some of the high end rings.
