Bell Crank Extension

Postby Nelson 634 » Fri Jan 22, 2021 6:00 pm

I'm looking to make a Bell Crank Extension for one of my tractors. I have a question about the thickness of part of it. The tab that is welded to the longer piece is 3/8" thick. However I need to verify that the 16" (14" after bending") piece is a 1/2" thick. Seems a bit thick to lift a 150# blade. (Or as I'm typing this I'm thinking it's for downward pressure in the grader position.) Second question, what is the out side dimension of the stand off. Drawing has I.D. of 5/8" but no O.D. . I may have to find a shop to bend steel. They'll want dimensions of every thing. Sketch attached. Thank you to John Puckett for sketch.

The "boomerang" style extension is 1/2" stock, so I would think this one would be also. Since it is only a spacer, the exact OD of the standoff is not super critical.

From measurement, main bar is 1/2” thick. Spacer OD is 1 1/4”. Not certain, but I think spacer is probably 1 1/4” mechanical tubing x 5/16” wall.
