Wiring diagram

Postby Bamacub » Sat Jan 09, 2021 3:06 pm

All diagrams show battery wire from voltage regulator to charge indicator on the minus side, if I wire it this way it shows discharge. If I change the wires on the amp meter it shows charge.

Is your tractor system pos or neg ground? Looking through your previous posts I cannot determine what year/model you are referring to. TKS

Agreed if original (I've seen some weird systems in the past). You never can tell what someone might have done to it. :surrender:

Is the 12 volt generator/regulator something you installed?

Polarized the regulator?

If the 12 volt negative ground installation was done on 6 volt positive ground system, then you need to change the wiring on the amp meter as you indicated.

I too am restoring a 1949 Cub. Put new wiring on 12 volt system with alternator. Followed all the instructions from new wiring diagram. When I push the starter button to off the engine keeps running. HELP, please.

It's a late model 12 volt original cub. I am building a wiring harness, it was a big mess when I got it. A non runner I am bringing back to life.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like your Cub has several electrical modifications to the original factory setup (12v Battery and alternator on a 49 Cub). Do you have a two prong push-pull ignition switch?

Start a new topic. You have a different problem than the original poster.

The problem is that the alternator is back feeding the ignition system when you push/off the ignition switch.

We will need more information to solve the problem.

I agree with Eugene, you should start a new thread. The solution is an easy one but we need to know what equipment you're running.
