Carb has been rebuilt twice - last time by IH shop! Has no power under load, w/die down almost completely, then RPM's w/pcik back up but still no power. Ajusting needle valve does no good! Had complete tune up is shop last fall..

Dusty, can you do a compression test? Maybe the valves are not closing due to carbon buildup. Maybe the valves are out of adjustment. A quick dry/wet compression test will tell you the general health of the motor.

Mine is doing the same thing I took it to a tractor shop named Bates City tractor in Missouri they're giving me a whole load of stuff about the engine needs to be completely rebuilt. I got the impression that they're being very shady.. the compression on the tractor has been the same since I first got it when it was operational. But now under load it will either die or has absolutely no power.

Dusty. Do it yourself, double check with a complete engine tune up. I'm with John, my guess is that something happened to the ignition timing, ignition system. Replace the coil with a known good one and the condenser.

Tractors/engines will some times run with a faulty condenser, just like crap. A quicky check for faulting condenser is to observe the arc at the points when cranking over the engine, ignition on. Yellow spark, faulty condenser.

OK....here is what guys at the tractor pull told me.....condensation drops down the exhaust pipe...rusts over time....puts a hole between the exhaust and intake....so your fuel air mixture gets less fuel and more air...also heats up and the hole gets bigger..Might want to check.....I just bought a manifold[about $200.00] tractor has a flat so no results yet...runs better and sounds better...compression was good...timing good...power got worse every year....valves adjusted....Kevin
