1940 farmall A rebuild
Im about to rebuild the engine on my 1940 farmall A. Any suggestions on what oil and some of the torque specs on parts

I noticed this comment over in your intro post. If you are going that deep, I would encourage you to also do the crankshaft main bearings. Also, while you have it apart take the end cover off the bottom of the oil pump and check it for flatness. Put some sandpaper on a flat surface and lap the end cover back to flat.

Ok. I did some more research since i posted this. I actually found out it's a 1950 super A. It seems that i can't find just piston and rings. Not sure why i cant find just the rings and pistons. The sleeves are not worn out and i dont have the tools or funds to split the tractor and send the engine out to get the sleeves changed

Pistons and sleeves for that engine have always been serviced as a unit. If the pistons are worn enough to need replacing, the sleeves probably are as well. You can get piston rings to rering the existing pistons.
Changing sleeves isn't that difficult.
