Worth of Super A Multifuel complete

Postby Riverman » Tue Sep 29, 2020 8:38 pm

Considering trading a 1952 Super A multi fuel that is complete and working. Even down a working adjustable heat manifold, in on a new compact tractor loader backhoe. It needs a little front end work, and the original heat shield for the manifold is missing. Still 6 volt and will run on diesel fuel. Has a belly bush hog, front push blade, and rear drag blade installed. Still have the original type owners, and service manuals. Paint, and rubber are fair, no rust.
Not trying to sell this tractor on this forum, but would like to know the clubs opinion as to it's value so I don't get screwed by a dealer.
Thanks.

A dealer is not going to give you anthing close to a collector price for a 70 year tractor. I bought a very nice cub for what I though was a great price with mowers weights plows & grader blade from the JD deal that took it in trade.

Even here a multi fuel does not come up much. The market is limited but I am sure there is a collector out there looking for one. I would try to sell it on your own.
When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!

I wouldn't hazzard a guess as to the value of your tractor but unless your dealer is a collector and really wants your tractor, he's not going to offer you a good price, as a trade in.

That's probably the best option. Use the local internet market places. Or keep the tractor.

Search the internet for ag equipment dealers. You will find a wide range of prices for the same make and model tractor. The compact tractor dealer will do the same thing.

Expect the compact tractor dealer to offer about 50 to 60 percent of the lower values found during the ag equipment dealer's internet search.
I have an excuse. CRS.
