Cleaned the oil cup for the air cleaner, radiator shutter thermostat, and the intake/exhaust manifolds which are new replacement pieces that were just rattle canned and starting to surface rust. Tomorrow I will start removing the frame so I can clean up the engine block for painting.

Fabbed up a stand to support the frame and got the tractor split. Now I can get the engine block and inside of the frame prepped for paint. Couldn't get myself to just shoot paint on it without splitting it since it was only 6 bolts away from where it stood. This will make it nice for my cousin if and when he decides to paint the whole tractor.

I think this is as far down as I need to go. It should all be forward progress from this point. When I first took this on, I thought it would be a fairly easy bolt back together project. Hopefully it all goes smoothly from here.

You've made it look easy. It'll be a first class restoration when you're done.

:thanx:

My cousin wants to add power steering and a wide front end to this tractor. I think he has gathered up some of the parts but not all of them that are needed so that will happen at a later time. When he decides to paint it complete, I am willing to help him out. The painting I am doing now will make it so he won't have to back track as far to complete it.

Had a few other things that took me away from this project but I back to it now. Got the inside of the frame wire wheeled and most of the block. Still need to clean around the block mounting bolts and then its time to prime and paint.

My brother came over again and ground the valve seats for me. Now the head needs a final cleaning and then its assembly time.

Primed everything that I had left to do except the engine block. Had to wait for the Ospho to dry so I will shoot it in the morning.

Primed the block this morning and sprayed some green on some of the small parts this afternoon. I should get the frame and block sprayed green tomorrow and if the weather is nice enough, I'll try to get the rest of the pieces sprayed green also.

Sprayed more green today. I'll let this dry good and probably start assembling pieces this weekend.

:thanx: I've been dreaming of the day that this can start going back together. It definitely became a bigger project that we were thinking when we started on it. We weren't expecting the stuck valve in the head or all of the mouse crud packed in many of the openings. At that point I decided on my own to go ahead and paint it since it was down this far. I figured I owe him(my cousin) for several things that he gave me and hopefully this will get us back to square.

Bolted the frame back on the 60 today and did a final cleaning of the head and governor housing. I'll get the valves installed in the head tomorrow and maybe go for head installation. Feels good to have this going back together.
