Thank You for making the 2020 Cub Tug a success

Rylan Myers 2020 Buckeye Cub Tug Winner with his grandfather Greg and father Carl

Congratulations to the 2020 Buckeye Cub Tug Winner Rylan Myers of Circleville, Ohio. Second place went to Bonnie Miller and third place to Eric King, last year’s winner.

Bonnie and I want to thank everyone for making the 2020 Buckeye Cub Tug successful. Especially with everything that has gone on this year. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did. This year’s Cub Tug was dedicated to the memory of Roy Edenfield. Thanks to everyone’s generosity we will be donating $1,385 to the Roy Edenfield Memorial Softball Scholarship. We would also like to thank the Southeastern Ohio Garden Tractor Club for contributing their trackside donations to Roy’s scholarship.

This event would not have been possible if not for the help and guidance from Darrell and Janet Ratliff. Darrell and Janet spent many evenings and weekends helping us prepare and were here the entire week of the event. We would also like to thank, John, Sheri and Mikey Ratliff. What can I say? John is a wizard in the kitchen, and it would be danged near impossible to feed everyone without him. The rest of the kitchen team was also indispensable. Our neighbor Jeannie worked like a trouper and was always there when needed. Jane King did everything from keeping Buck and Pete walked, washing dishes to serving. Also, a special thanks goes out for Bill Weisbrodt, who logged many hours mowing to make the place look presentable, and Tootle’s Karaoke for providing the Friday night entertainment and for providing the sound system for Sara Simmons. A special thanks goes out to Sara Simmons and Kevin Key for providing the Saturday evening entertainment.

I would also like to thank the Village of Somerset and the Somerset Memorial Park Board for letting us use the park and the pulling track; Doug Snider for preparing the track; Southeastern Ohio Garden Tractor Pullers Association for donating the pulling sled; John Martin for providing the pullback tractor; Landmark Auto Parts for being available for afterhours parts runs and providing a generator for trackside use; the Snider Family and all others who contributed and I have may have missed.

We also want to thank the Somerset Boy Scout Troop 257 for providing the trackside lunch. It is always a special treat to have lunch and watch the activities. The Scouts mentioned that they would also like to thank everybody for their support and the generous donations. And of course, none of this would have been worth doing if folks did not show up and bring their Cubs. Thank you for coming and making it a fun weekend. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.

We had a great time! Thanks for what you do!
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

We would like to thank everyone for making us feel so welcome last weekend at the Cub Tug. We came not knowing anyone and never felt like strangers from the moment we pulled in. We thank Doug and Bonnie for the prime camping spot and for hosting the event, John and his amazing crew for the great food, everyone who helped work on our "new" Cub which we brought home in May and thank Sara and Kevin for a great Saturday night. We recieved such kindness and generosity that it felt as if we'd known everyone already. We had been looking forward to this event since we found out about it in May . It was over all too soon ! We look forward to seeing everyone again. Many thanks !

Thank you Doug, Bonnie and your crew for hosting a fine event. My visit was short this year but very beneficial and I had a great time .

I know this is pretty late but I would like to Thank Doug and Bonnie, Darrell and Janet Ratliff, John, Sheri and Mikey for the great food I’ve heard so much about over the years. Also it was very nice to see all of the participants and meet some new people. Saturday’s entertainment with Sarah and Kevin was a big hit. What a delight to be a part this event. Hope to see you all again some time in the future. Sincerely, Frank
