Son and I electrically wired our pole shed. We had most of the electrical wire, boxes, outlets, and even a 200 amp electrical panel on hand. We covered the interior walls up to about 8 feet off the floor with corrugated roofing panels, which we had on hand.

Idea of the corrugated roofing panels was to help prevent any damage to the exterior, should an accident happen inside the building. Also the corrugated panels make great places to install tool hangers.

We used the commercial grade storage racks and cross members to make shelving. Had to cut and weld the storage racks to make 2 foot wide shelving. Also used the storage racks to make work benches.

If you look around there are companies that replace damaged storage racks. You may be able to get them free for just hauling them off, cheaper for the company to give them away.

I was able to find some used pallet racking that was only 2' deep. That's large enough for Cub size parts and doesn't take up as much wall space. Light stuff up above, heavier on the ground.

My son's place of employment is closing down. He and other maintenance members are stripping the plant bare. Son said that they were removing the HVAC ducts, 20 foot length electrical drops, pneumatic plumbing. And will eventually remove the rack standards and cross members.

Told son to bring home anything we could repurpose.

Suggest talking to neighbor and places visited during work to see if they are throwing anything away.

One of the acreage neighbors has a contract with a book distribution company to haul off pallets. Every so often I have him drop off a load of pallets. Sort through the pallets, retain the good ones to keep firewood of the ground. Cut some of the damaged ones up for kindling. If I need brushed burned, have the neighbor drop a load of pallets on or near the brush pile.

Asked the neighbor for a load of sheet 4' x 4' pallet tops. Lined the interior of son's garage with the pallet tops.
