I started some seeds, yesterday, for early tomatoes, peppers, and lettuce. Will be transplanted into my unheated greenhouse, when Mother Nature allows it.

I have a few sweet tato plants starting to grow and will start more later.--- weather here is real strange right now!---need to start filling my water collecting tank but I'm afraid it might still freeze!
Have a couple ideas for a planter for the creeper and also a small cultivator for it.---current speed as calculated by members over on MBN, the top speed would be 14.8 feet per min.!!--- I think that would be something like 8 or 9 hundred feet per hour! LOL!!---THAT will be just right to cultivate small crops with!! LOL!! thanks; sonny

One purple asparagus stem popping up. If the current decent weather continues, first asparagus cutting in another week or so.

Watering the garden, only about 1/3" of rain so far in June. Garden is about finished. Grass is starting to crunch under foot.

Digging new potatoes and have only a few beets remaining.

Starting a new strawberry patch. Something eating the new plants, clipping off the leaves. Thinking groundhog.

Picked up my live catch animal traps this afternoon. Planning on baiting the traps with cut up apple and 1/2 a bagel with peanut butter. Going to put the other 1/2 bagel in the toaster, spread with peanut butter, have a snack.

Yesterday, checked the melon patch and blackberries at son's house. Melons are doing well and looks like a bumper crop of blackberries.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Started picking blackberries Saturday. Got half a gallon (1.3 lbs). Tipped the new canes and tried putting up the 2nd year ones that had fallen over or sagging. Supposed to be self-erect canes, but don't always turn out that way when they set fruit.

Been digging new potatoes and onions. Love 'em on the grille. Corn is about 42" high and showing some tassle. Beans are blooming and will set soon.

Lack of rain in June has forced me to start watering.

Probably picked the equivalent of a contractor sized wheelbarrow, of strawberries, this spring. they are winding down, now. Lots of lettuce. Peas, just starting. Got a couple of ripe cherry tomatoes. Beans should be blooming, in a week or so. Need rain! Probably had a half inch, all month. Too large an area, to water, so only new plantings, get watered.

One rabbit and one racoon harvested from garden to date. Varmints been eating my newly planted strawberry plants.

Vegetables finished for the season. Still have one volunteer melon, unknown type growing.

Going to plant one hill of refrigerator sized water melon this afternoon. Rebaiting my live traps early evening.

Good news, 3 days a week, farmers market. Couple of the marketeers have high tunnels offering a wide assortment of homegrown vegetables.
I have an excuse. CRS.

About 2" of much needed rain over the last 4 or 5 days. June, 4" of rain below normal, very dry. Had placed soaker hoses is the garden to keep vegetable alive.

Looks like we are going to have an abundance of apples this year. Have ordered an apple peeler/corer and a fruit picker. Game plan is to freeze prepared apples. When daughter visits, she will make apple butter, jelly, etc..

Blackberries are producing. Freezing most of the berries. Future blackberry jelly. Would have had blackberry cobbler, but son took a days picking to work to snack on.
I have an excuse. CRS.
