send me some of that rain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I gotta start hauling water from the river since I never got enough to fill any of my storage tanks! Used it up as fast as I caught it so its gone. forecast looks dry for next week or two. The early onions are starting to bulb too. Sweetcorn is a foot tall and last planting not up yet. (plant it in stages to get longer harvest)

Vegetable Garden;

Garlic will be ready to harvest soon. Had BLT's for dinner on Saturday with fresh lettuce.
Rhubarb Custard Bars for dessert yesterday!

Strawberries, Asparagus, & Raspberries;

75 new strawberry plants and only one (1) did not root. Nipped the blossoms off as required by Nourse Farms instructions.
Asparagus got off to a slow start but is still producing, though it does not touch my lips!
Seems like we took care of the Voles in the Raspberries for now. Lots of new growth on the plants.

Corn Patch: Put seed in on May 29th with an 8-10 day germination, so we should start seeing some sprouts. Need to get to the electric fence suggestions by Don and others. If all of the seed sprouts, and all of the stalks produce 2 ears, we'll have about 30 dozen ears. Wishful Thinking, I know, but stranger things have happened.
Also put our Cucumbers in this location to change things up in the Vegetable Garden. Did not have a good crop last year due to blight and a fungus of some sort.

Been haulin water for over a week. gettin a few sprinkles today but no help, so I still carry water.
For now I been using these 2 tankers to haul water then bucket it from them in 3 gallon sprinkler cans to the plants.
So far its keeping stuff alive and growing.

I use 12 volt, 1100 gph bilge pumps, and 100 feet of garden hose to water seedling trees.

The bilge pumps have a 9 foot head. They will not pump the 1100 gph when pumping from the spring into a 250 gallon tote mounted on a trailer. Takes about 15 - 20 minutes to pump 150 gallons.

Bilge pump in the tote, 100 feet of garden hose laid out. Turn pump on. Pumps about 3 1/2 gallons per minute. Water first seedling. Close off hose end, walk to next seedling.

Moderate drought area. Inch of rain last night, first in close to a month. Before the rain, ground was powder and pasture grass dormant.

Finally getting rain so everything is perking up.

Picking lettuce and kale on a regular basis.

Mice or Voles got a dozen or so corn sprouts. Had them stashed under the bonfire wood pile. Moved the wood, cleaned up where the pallets were, put some "bait" there and put a pallet over it. Haven't lost any more sprouts.

Supposed to be unseasonably cool and wet for the next week. Not sure how things will fare.

After a month of drought, it looks like we’re going to have a month of rain.

Having a woodchuck problem. Neighbor is live trapping them and eating them. When his freezer is full I'lll get the Conibear's out. (kill traps)
Neighbor brought me lettuce, twice, to replace what the woodchucks ate.
