I have wild farm apple trees, and crab apple trees, and in the past always had a bountiful crop, but back I rarely did anything with them.

Then I started to use them. Some were tasty, some, well, nasty!

The more I used the apples, then the less crop I had!

I was making apple juice from some. It was like no other apple juice I ever saw or had. It was tart, and had a reddish / pinkish hue to it. I LIKE it a LOT! And would freeze it so I could meter it out over time!

I think for the last 4 years in a row, a crop been nonexistent!

The crab apples are more tolerant to a freeze and always have a crop. I been wanting to try and make crap apple jelly, but have not got around to it yet.

Big freeze here too, got the fruit trees and strawberries. Potatoes will have to regrow, onions are loving the snow. We had 2" of snow here, layed for a couple days before it melted.
Made more horseradish a while back before plants leafed out. Any month with an R in it they say is good time to dig it.
A few seedlings coming up in the hotbed and it usually comes fast---not so this year! Might have to throw a few more tomato seeds in some pots and see if that will work, otherwise we wont have any tomato plants this year.

onions stickin out of the snow ----- we had an inch or 2, took 2 days for it to melt. ground was still cold here.

I need to get my onion seedlings planted, but we keep getting rain, so it's too muddy to work the ground.

With all the up and down temps.....my fruit trees are going to suffer....No seeds in ground till Mothers Day.....a week before the long weekend [Memorial Day] for plants here......had 5 inches of snow last Weds morning

80* here Monday and muggy as heck! ground dry and high winds moving dirt from one farm to the next as they stir it up!
Today here 70* , wind and a few sprinkles was all that came from the forecast for 94% chance of T-storms. I kept cultivating the gardens and never got wet. ---could be dry one here again!

I planted 1/4 acre of silver queen corn Saturday morning. Planted two 250 ft rows of green bean and four rows of black eyed peas after that. Then we spent the rest of the day getting the electric fence up to hopefully keep most of the deer out. I planted another 50 tomato plants this morning bringing my total up to 200 plants. Got a good pretty good rain earlier today at my farm on the corn, beans, and peas. Hope to get some more this week so maybe my seed will be up in a week or two. Got a little rain on my tomato patch this afternoon and the weather people claim we are going to get some more this week. My tomatoes are covered with a drip irrigation system so I can water them when ever I need to. I sure am looking forward to some fresh tomatoes and should have some the last week of June

Got my onions planted, yesterday, and some other stuff in, today. Was wet, but plants were overdue to get in the ground. Rain again tonight and tomorrow!

Been getting small batches of asparagus for 2 weeks. First big batch today.

Harvested a mole in my asparagus patch today. Fresh dug mound last night or early morning. Set trap in one of the short runs. Hour or so later mole dead.

We been stuck in a rain rut!

We are getting lots of rain. Going to try to plant mothers day. Planted 12 potato's plants March 30 covered when we got snow. They are doing good. First time for me to grow them.

We have been getting asparagus for a couple of weeks as well. 2 days when it got in the high 60's provided dozens. We had Long Island Sound flooding in the back yard several times this winter due the No'easters and the asparagus love the salt!

Mid to upper 30's for the next three nights. We'll never get the warm weather stuff in the ground. I won't have a ripe tomato until September, then it will frost. What happened to global warming?

I hear ya there! I have that four letter word (S#@w) in our forecast and it frosted today.

They say global warming is causing the cold!

Lately it has been "climate change" instead of global warming though, in the quest to tax us for the weather!
