Steiner Catalog cover

Postby ShawnAgne » Tue Dec 11, 2018 9:44 pm

On the Stenier Catalog it appears to be a 300 dash with a ignition button and a Key on the vertical console. Wondering when did Farmall Go to this? My 300 is a 55 and it just has a key ignition. Am I correct in saying that you turned the key on and then just pushed the button to start? What was the benefit of this vs. just a key ignition?

I think they were all that way. IH used a key and starter button from the 300/400 right on through the 66 and 86 series tractors in the 1970s/early 80s. Turn the key to on, press the button to engage the starter.

Ok because mine just has a key ignition where the cover shows the push button. Where the cover shows the key, my panel doesn't have a hole for one.

If I recall at least on a 450 the key was down lower, more where the tach is. It's been a while....
