Replaced the needle/seat, throttle shaft, and the two main gaskets in the carb after tearing it all apart and blasting it clean. Put it all back together and having a hard time getting it to fire, flooding a lot. When it does start it is running rough will run for a while then die. Have the screws set where front fuel screw is 3 off seat, and the idle screw at the top is 1 off the seat. The throttle stop screw was set so it just touches the throttle shaft when it is closed. Is this correct?
Other thing when I was screwing in the small brass tube one of the sides of the slots came off. I'm assuming this is for a screw driver and thus shouldn't cause an issue. Or is this causing my problem?
What I'm guessing is I flooded it pretty good while cranking and there is just to much fuel in the motor atm.
Thoughts?

Re: Rebuilt Carb now having issues starting
start out with both screws about 1 1/4 turn from the seats. Unless there is something different than normal in carb, 3 turns is way to much, which could account for flooding.

Re: Rebuilt Carb now having issues starting
Well ended up it wasn't carb adjustments. As I was trying to crank it and it was running for awhile then stopping, I suddenly couldn't crank it anymore. SO I replaced the orange wire that went from the key to the solenoid and Presto, fired right up. Was having some electrical issues prior to this guess it was this wire getting ready to go bad.
