Tractor Identification
My serial # is for a late 1941 A . My tractor has the hydraulic pump under hood and also has the flat gauge panel with amp or volt meter, switch key installed where pull for on off was previously located and selector knob for lights. Am I wrong in assuming that the seat bracket is from another tractor.

Re: Tractor Identification
I may be speaking out of turn, but if your tractor has hydraulics, then it’s Super A.

Re: Tractor Identification
There should also be an engine number stamped into the right side of the block, roughly below the #1 spark plug. The Super A hydraulic pump bolts directly to the block, below the magneto. Maybe you have a tractor made from two. Maybe the seat bracket came from another tracor, maybe . . .
Post some pictures of the questionable parts like the gauge panel, bell housing, hydraulic pump etc.

Re: Tractor Identification
Thanks for your feed back Jim . I thought that I may have been dealing with parts from 2 tractors . I have owned this tractor for about 15 years and recently retired and now have time to work on it . I will check out the block and get numbers and pictures in a few days. Thanks again have a great day.

Re: Tractor Identification
Engine block # is 251088 - R1 . Looks like it's early 1948 year model. Not sure about the R1. Could this be a revision or maybe a mold casting #.

Re: Tractor Identification
It's the part number for the engine block.

Re: Tractor Identification
It is the correct block part number for an early Super A (up to '51 or so). The engine number is stamped into a machined boss, way up at the top of the block. The date code for the block will be at the very lower edge of the block, virtually straight below the engine number.
