First time cub owner!
Hello form south-east Ontario. We just picked up a 1951 farmall cub. It will be used as a row cropper in our cut flower operation. It is a project that's for sure, but glad to be a part of this great forum. The plan is to get it operational again, work it for a year, then bring it back to its original glory! Hope to learn lots, and thanks again for letting us be a part of this forum.

Welcome to the forum! Your plan to use it for a year, before refurbishing it, is a good plan. That way you can make necessary repairs as you use it. When the time comes, to tear into it, you’ll know much better what you have and what repairs to incorporate into the makeover.

DEFINITELY the way to proceed! Nothing more disappointing than to have to disassemble a freshly painted part to replace a leaking seal, etc.!! BTDT!
Welcome and have fun!

Very smart to get it working and then you will see it's worth. I'm of the mindset that it is only original once I would prefer to see the 70 year old paint instead of shinny new paint. But most likely it is not original now.
