Terramite T-6 backhoe

Postby inairam » Sun Jan 23, 2022 6:39 pm

I picked up this Terramite T-6 last summer. It is 4WD, 32 hp Perkins diesel. Was US-made in West Virginia. The PO covered the front to a skid steer type quick attachment. It has a bucket, adjustable forks, 24 in hoe bucket and a 12" hoe bucket, and a mechanical thumb. I purchased a grapple am working on adding the 3rd function control valve.

This is like the prototype of the T-9 model. If falls somewhere between a B and L series Kubota. Pistons are bigger and more HP than the B. It does not have gears just forward and reverses hydrostatic transmission so it is a little simpler to work on but slow to move around - the speed about between 1st and 2nd on a cub but you have to be at full throttle.

It is not IH but the company is out of business as well. There is a fairly active community on facebook but nothing like this site

There is not much on the site about Terramites.

When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!

the tractor is about the same size as a cub but the " modern hydraulics", quick attach, and power steering big help.
