194 Plow Identification Help
I just need to confirm that this is a 194 plow. It's on CL and if I get a fast hitch from a member here, I want to be sure this is a 194 plow before I commit to buying it. He wants $200 for it.

Re: 194 Plow Identification Help
Part number on top of the beam ends with "CUB" on the L-F194.
No way of telling from the photo.
For $200 with colter, that's a deal.

Peter's right, it's stamped on the main beam around where the curve is and will say "Cub". We have 2 of these plows and gave less than $100 for each one, neither has a coulter though.

Call or email your CL seller. He should be able to quickly ID it per Peter's and Shane's suggestions above.

Just sent him an email asking him to verify the part number. Thanks, guys.

T-Mo,
From TM Tractor site; http://www.tmtractor.com/tm-tractor/gim/l-f194_-_1-f194_001.htm
"Comparision between the L-F194 and 1-F194 Moldboard Plows"
There is a definite overall size and weight difference between
the L-F194 plow for the Farmall Cub tractor
and the 1-F194 plow for the Farmall 100 series tractor.
The beam part number for the L-F194 is "520260R21CUB"
and the beam part number for the 1-F194 is "520849R11"
The L-F194 shown is a 12 inch plow
The 1-F194 shown is a 16 inch plow

Re: 194 Plow Identification Help
....so is it yours?
Plow looks to be in pretty good shape. The point seems to have quite a bit of life left in it.
Hard to tell, but the colter appears to be missing the "big nut".

Hi,
Below is the 194 Plow owner's manual, if you want to read it.
It seems to only use the first 12 pages shown there.

Thanks. I downloaded the manual a couple of weeks ago. I also downloaded the fast hitch manual, but the quality isn't the best, so it's hard to read. Be nice if we had a how-to video or instructions on installing the fast hitch. I know when and if I get one, I will need some tutoring.

Re: 194 Plow Identification Help
We can help you with that.
Do you have a complete fast hitch? Early or Late style?
Do you have the larger diameter rockshaft with the 2nd tab on it for the helper spring?
Does the left fender (as viewed sitting in the drivers seat) have the reinforcement on the front for the helper spring rod guide?
Helper spring is not mandatory but it reduces the wear & tear on the touch control unit.

Re: 194 Plow Identification Help
From the seller who is a member here, it's a late style. I haven't seen it yet as I haven't pick it up yet. From what I'm told, it has the helper spring, but I don't think my tractor has the reinforcement. Is this something that bolts to the fender or should come with the helper spring? From what I'm told, the hitch is complete. I'm still learning on a few things, if not a lot of things.

Re: 194 Plow Identification Help
I went out and double check my tractor and it does not have the reinforcement on the fender nor does it have the extra tab on the rockshaft, which is what I expected. The fender reinforcement doesn't bother me too much, that can be remedied, and I guess I can pick up a newer rockshaft. But, for the time being, is it really necessary to have the helper spring if I'm only going to lift the plow? I haven't seen a fasthitch in person, so I don't know the geometry of it to see if the hitch would work efficiently enough without it for lifting a plow. Also, to see if the current, old rockshaft would work with the fasthitch setup.

Re: 194 Plow Identification Help
You can use the plow without the helper spring. The spring is more useful with heavier implements
