if the castings agree, you have a white demonstrator model made in early 1950. your casting numbers should be late 1949 "S" or early 1950 'T'.
lucky find.
your casting numbers should all read probably 10-12/xx/S

Just as a side note, cub production did not start until 1947. There are no 46's.

They were only produced for about 3 months (first quarter of 1950) as a marketing program. Painted white at the factory. Loaned out to prospective buyers to use them. The white paint was supposed to attract neighbor's attention. They were supposed to be repainted red before they were sold. Many of them stayed where they were and never got re-painted. Collectable because of the few numbers of them made.

I am not sure but it makes sense because when we pulled the gas tank off the underneath was white when we were taking off the paint and around the seam betwen the tank and the rest of the hood there were white patches of paint and the underneath of the tractor seat was white. Does this help I am getting it ready to sell and this could help me!!
Of all the things I have lost I miss my mind the most!!

Repaint it white. It'll help sell it. check the photo albums on the main page. The wheels and headlights are red, rear rims are silver. Everything else is white.

just to add to BD's comments on the demo program, an old timer told me the white paint was a glare problem in the fields, reflecting too much. so repainting was not optional. sunglasses wern't popular in the 50's, so it makes some sense
oh, and i already sent in $151, sorry, Ken

I'll bet Big Dogs Cub Locator started smoking when he pointed it towards Oklahoma

I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Though trillions and trillions of eyes have been watching the skies for as long as human memory exists, no gods nor angels have been seen or documented outside of religion. The number of spaceships being sighted however has become much more prevalent.

I don't even need another Cub, but I'll raise it to $152.
Not all demos were painted red afterward as they were supposed to be. Mine was brush painted red many years later because of the glare problem. I understand it was because the sons had all left home and the owner finally discovered what a problem the glare was when he had to work it himself.
Some were never painted red and the white didn't weather very well... the rust showed up much more. I don't know whose this one is, but I have several photos. It is a good reference for which part should be which color.
