NAPA Gold Filters

Postby Ironhorse » Fri Dec 21, 2007 9:29 pm

After I was quoted the rock bottom price of $6.00 each for a case of 6 #1153 Cub oil filters from my local NAPA store  , I did a little research and came up with this site...

[site removed]

$3.23 each is even better than the $3.66 each that I just paid for them thru NAPA Fleet. Even at $3.66, I was able to order a case of 6, delivered to the front door with shipping and still saved enough to get one filter free of charge...just thought I would pass this cost savings on to all the folks who own multiple Cubs.

One other little tid bit of information...Wix makes all of the NAPA Gold series filters.

Thanks Ironhorse for the info :D

I just walked out to the shop as I was sure I was paying less for the Hastings LF320 filter I buy at a local tractor shop. Turns out the last ones I bought were $4.59.

I'll bookmark that site for future purchases. Thanks. :D

I've just exchanged several e-mails with the owner of the business (working on Sat morn !! Gotta be impressed with that !!) and what a nice guy !! Seems the obvious go-to guy for all our filter needs for ANYTHING !! Craig

Here's the body of my latest e-mail from Terry - helluva business !!

My main stay is heavy truck and trailer and equipment repair. I have 22 mechanics on staff and we work 24/7. been at it 20
plus years. I know nothing else and to tell you the truth, SE is not for everyone but I would not have it any other way... Though
some days I feel like I must have hit my head somewhere. I am sure you know what I mean.
The website is somthing my wife and I do to supliment an eventual retirement.
I welcome one and all to have a look. With my buying power, I can offer sone huge savings on a quality filter for anything out
there.

Six oil filters????

It matters how often you change your oil and what condition your equipment is running in. Tractors aren't like cars there run in dirty, dusty conditions. The filter should be changed at every oil change. The air cleaner should be cleaned or replaced often too. The oil & filter should be changed in dusty/dirty conditions more often too its not a once a year thing.

It didn't take long for the air filter on my cub cadet to get clogged up with grass. I put a new one on it about 5 weeks before. With the external breather on the cub on the oil cap i'm sure were getting some small amount of dust and dirt in the motor oil too.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

On the SAME filters? Remember to compare apples to apples. I do not subscribe to the "an oil filter is an oil filter" myth.

I just went to both websites and checked on the prices for the 1153 filter:
$3.66 each @ Fleet Filter
$3.23 each @ [site removed], plus he will give those from farmallcub.com an additional 5% off until 4/1/08 - - final cost $3.07 each.
