Thinking of trying the 651268R91 flex-clevis…

Postby Ole90633 » Tue Jan 16, 2024 11:29 am

1949 Farmall Cub with 54A blade: been plowing snow with it for many years using the hydraulic lift.

Crushed limestone driveway, which is well compacted. To “float” the blade, pretty much have to constantly use the Touch Control. Although I have the “trip-spring” for an easy trip, still end up with too much down-pressure on occasion !

It’s time to try the Flexible Clevis. I can build one but need a drawing… a’yup, got totally lost in the various places herein trying to find one !

One someone please provide a direct link to the 651268R91 drawing ?

Thanks !

Go to the "PDF manuals" in the "quick links" at the top left of this page. Look for "flexible clevis" in the "Member Made Diagrams and Instructions".

You could also remove the a-frame bracket from the plow assembly and rig up some chain to achieve the same effect if you're so-inclined. Or just substitute a short length of chain at the top of the a-frame to allow some float.

Thanks so much Jim Becker ! Found & down-loaded drawing !
Thanks too, Urbish… kind of a “field expedient test” with the chain to see how it would work !

It does lower the lift height of the blade a bit. That is why they are missing - people take them off.

When I plowed snow with the Cub, I swapped out the lift linkage with a length of chain. The blade floated nicely with no loss of lift height.
