I made great discovery today. the original ih carb is still on one of my cubs. its in very good condition but previous owner put the wrong valve in ii and I cannot get it to stop leaking gas.
online parts suppliers want $58 for new original style valve and seat and most of the aftermarket kits have a very different valve and seat in the kit that was alll wrong for my carb anyway
I found a local tractor parts store and they had a kit for a farmall H for $15, I guess it had been there a while. anyway it has the exact same valve seat as the original in my machine
the kit I got is. sparex S.68329
I just thought this might be helpful for others that may have come across the same issues

Re: cub IH carburetor parts
If it's the steel needle and brass cage and fits the Cub, you found a real bargain.
