Well, The Christmas Blizzard Is Coming

Postby ricky racer » Tue Dec 20, 2022 9:25 pm

Those in the mid-west and the north-east are being told to batten down the hatches for what might be a blizzard. Locally they are calling for 12"-16" between system snow and lake effect with wind gusts up to 50-60 mph on Friday. Should be interesting!

Good luck over there. Us east-siders are going to be spared the worst of it but it looks like your area is going to get slammed. They're calling for 2-4' in some of the usual heavy lake-effect areas of the U.P. Looks like Ironwood is going to take a direct hit.

I was hoping to push some snow with the Cub this year, but having spent the last 5 days sick, I will happily use the Dodge pickup with a V-blade for this storm. Hope everybody stays sage and healthy through this one!

Yeah, in the UP they measure snow a little differently than we do! The arrow on the sign shows the amount of snow they got last year.

Good luck out there....the CT Shoreline will get rain and 15F....I would prefer snow. I had my other hip replaced yesterday so I can't climb on any of the tractors to plow for a month at least so I hope everything passes us for a while.

Sounds like you have been watching WWMT. To them 2 inches is a blizzard but I am headed out to get gas for the cadet and generator. Most people around here haven't seen or remember the last decent storm which was Jan of 78. 67 was not bad either. After getting gas I will hole up. But a mere 12 inches without wind? Easy. With wind? Most will wind up in neighbors yard. Again easy. Vern

We got 14" Monday night into Tuesday morning here in the NW corner of WA. Looked like this system was going to rotate across the mid-west.

Dear Santa:
A barn or garage appearing would really help ensure I cuss less this winter!

I mounted my blade about a month ago, put the tire chains on about a week ago and today mounted a new cutting edge and the wings on my blade. I guess I'm as ready as I'm going to get...

It ought to be against the law to get as cold as it is going to be in Georgia this weekend Bobby

We're predicted to only get 3-5" of snow, but the temp dropped from 45* to 9* is about 20 minutes, and it's still dropping.
