Thank you Bernard! My ancestors were Scotch-Irish, came to the US in the late 1700's (the best that I can tell).

You’re dead right Bob, I’m not fond of turkey. I don’t even have it at Christmas if I can avoid it. Growing up I was part of a family of ten boys and six and we killed two geese every Christmas. Now that there’s only two of us we have chicken and ham for Christmas dinner.

Interesting you don’t like turkey but you will eat goose…..you can come over anytime and feast on the Canadian “invaders” the camp out on my property in the winter. Dinner is served!

By the way I think turkey gets a bad rap because most be don’t know how to prep the bird….must be marinated 24hrs in brine to retain the water content if not it’s dry as Las Vegas.

They were also the first country to establish concentration camps for the civilian population during the Boer War in South Africa.

Yes it did make them more determined to succeed, and in the New World (USA) they took the opportunity and had the freedom to do it
