Radiator options

Postby Joeandmack » Tue Nov 01, 2022 4:26 pm

From previous posts about purchasing radiators it seems that the pricier options (Clancy) have fitting problems. After looking at some on the internet I’ve seen some off eBay for as low as $139, $168 (from Amazon with the easy return option). Seems to be quite a few in the low to mid $200 range, and saw one for $900. I realize this is a loaded question, but is there any sense purchasing the expensive ones ( I am wondering about material) if almost none of them are built to actual specifications? Has TM straightened out Clancy? I’d like to support our local sponsor, but also would like less of a head ache if it doesn’t fit. thought I had mine patched but when I put the supports in I must have jostled some new pin holes. Took the radiator off and going to take my time cleaning and painting everything this winter, expect more questions. Appreciate any thoughts on any of my above ramblings.

Have you given any thought to having yours professionally tested and repaired or recored?

Goxu1 (Paul in Australia) was the one who recently had trouble with the Clancy fitting. I'd suggest calling TM, talk to Ron and ask him if he was comfortable that the problem had been fixed.

If that doesn’t work out, you might try JP Tractor Salvage. They have new ones and claim that they fit. They ship too!

Forget about Clancy getting involved to sort out the issue. They don't reply to emails anymore
Their radiator is up to 1/2" out in places , but as they said "we've sold over 4000 of these without any problems"
Cripes - I thought I'd never get one.
