While working on my cub at the Barnyard Bash recently, I replaced the seeping rear seal "while it was split"! It hadn't been dripping (that I had noticed) but there was some oil there. I had brought one of Tim Talleur's (tst) reworked seal/retainers and installed it.
When I got home, I was cleaning the removed retainer so I could send it to Tim for replacement (I like having one on the shelf), and noticed it was an R2 retainer (the later one). My question is: Do these R2 retainers require reworking like the R1's, or can the listed replacement seal be pressed in successfully? I think I may have a rear seal, but haven't tried it yet to see if it is a tight fit.
