Regular drawbar question

Postby workingfarmcub » Mon Apr 25, 2022 8:32 am

Might seem like a stupid question but what's the best way to mount a drawbar? First time ever having it on. Using it forward/reversed to use on my grader blade. Do I just make sure the level adjustment bolts are tight then hook it on and tighten the implement bolts? Was doing it that way but felt like I was having to draw the plates to the final drives with the implement bolts a bit.

Also put the bolts in the bottom adjustment hole seems like the most level option for a belly blade?

Plates are probably bent and that would be one reason you had to pull them together. Drawbar itself bent a little,--quite common on cub's.

Hooking it on is why they slotted the mounting holes.

Good chance IH made it a bit narrow on purpose.
If it was wider, and you had to use a shoehorn or hammer to change it you would not be very happy!

Just use what is best for the task and application you have at hand.
