Crank Pully Tool for a Cub
Hello, I am new to the forum. I am restoring my fathers 1948 cub and I need to know where I can buy a crank pully remover/installer minus the bottle jack/ram if possible as I do not really want to make one. It's hard to find the plate steel around here. Many thanks to anyone who can help ?

Hi,
Welcome to the website.
Below is the Cub and LoBoy service manual, if you don't have it. It has lots of info.
There is a contents beginning on page 1 of most sections.
I would read section 1, the engine section, since you are working on the engine.

I'm not so sure the manual will tell him where to buy one

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

My son used this setup. Monster puller and a bearing separator. I don't know where you can find a puller like that- we borrowed it from a friend. We used heat on the pulley and an impact driver on the puller to get it off.

Re: Crank Pully Tool for a Cub
Hi,
When using a puller with the long threaded rod, I like to put oil on the threads, and work oil into the threaded part the rod goes through.
It helps a little to reduce the friction there when you are pulling hard with the puller.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
