Implement bolts

So the implements on my cub are all using 4 point bolts and nuts. 1) When talking size is it the distance across the flats? So a 1 inch socket would have on inch between the flat parts? 2)Does anybody have a source for impact wrench usable 1/2 inch drive 4 point sockets 1 inch across the flat parts and bigger? I just ordered a set yesterday but it only goes up to 15/16 and one of the flats on my implements is one inch across the flats... thanks for the tribal knowledge!!

You want 8 point sockets and they are terribly rare...ok...so they are not terribly rare, dr google found them in a jiffy...

Snap-on makes them!

I just use a crescent wrench!

Sometimes you can get a 12 point socket to fit, but if I remember right, the size listed on the socket dont necessarily match the size across the flats of the square head!

And.......

You have to be careful, because the 12 point can round off your square head, from the minimal contact on the corners!

they make 4 point sockets. i got a set off amazon. look for "4-Point Square Socket" or "pipe plug socket"

I got some 8 points as well but they will round off a stuck plug or square head bolt.

"Grey" makes 4 pt sockets impacts, good quality, price not bad

The 8 point sockets are also known as " Double Square " sockets.
