We went to this auction last month. Lots of little red tractors, but only two cubs. The running cub sold for $800. I live in NC. Usually we see them go higher. Makes me wonder what you may have seen them sell for in your neck of the woods.
Here's the video, cubs are near the end.

Re: Running Cub at auction sells for $800
Haven't been to an auction around here with a Cub up for sale in a long time.
In your video, it seems the running Cub for $800 was a good price, while the $550 non-running Cub was a bit high.

Theres a 184 Lo Boy listed on Rochester Craigslist for $1000.00. Been there a while, no takers. It looks good too.

I saw your video the day you posted it. That was a steal I thought. I would of had trouble not buying the runner as well.

The non runner someone probably figured it would be an easy fix or they needed the parts from it, and at $500 there is many useable parts and that's a deal if you need something big like finals, or gears, axle tube, torque tube, hood. You see where I'm going.

Not new to this; completely understand. It’s just when I’ve bought an almost-but-non-running Cub before for $100 less, you can see why I said it was a bit high.
