Mott Flail Mower.

Postby J3 Driver » Wed Dec 02, 2020 11:06 pm

Evening all. Picked up this flail mower today for my kids cub. A few questions.
1. Is this for a start dated cub or lowboy? Seems to fit in the cub ok.
2. What model is it?
3. Does anyone have a manual in PDF for it.

Yours appears to be for a Loboy, but they will fit a regular Cub. A regular Cub fast hitch flail will not fit a Loboy. I looked in the manual section but can't find that model.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I think the manual is the third on this page of the PDF manuals:
OEM Implement and Attachment Manuals and Brochures --->
Mott Mowers

That's what I thought, but I can't open it.

Interesting, after looking again, I cannot get it to open on the server, but I can open it if I download it.

Bill is correct, it is the LB model for a LoBoy. The quick way to tell is the FHC for the standard Cub has a long cross shaft. The LB has a short cross shaft.

Don,

This finally makes sense. Know I see the difference. Wow long time trying to figure the difference out.

Thank you!

This entry in the How To forum helped me immensely, check it out:

I don't think you have to remove the stabilizer bar for the LB model, especially since the LB model doesn't have the sway chains installed, but the swapping around of the cotter pins and moving the FH socket to the far left position applies to the LB model as well as to the Standard Cub model. There's an adjustment you should make to the Touch Control arm/Rockshaft arm connection too that is mentioned in the manual.
