Donaldson air cleaner
I have been looking at the Donaldson air cleaner at TM ,my question is will it fit on my 48 cub. I have 3 inches from the top of the hood to the top of the air cleaner pipe. Or is this considered a short air cleaner pipe and would need an extension to fit the Donaldson air cleaner.

Re: Donaldson air cleaner
If you're talking about the glass jar pre-cleaner than they were never intended for use on the Farmall Cub. It may fit but it's more of a novelty and will not improve filtration.

Re: Donaldson air cleaner
There are people running them on cubs. But I have heard of the short pipe and long pipe thing. If yours only protrudes 3 inches that seems like a short one and not high enough to clear the jar. But I may be wrong I'm not an expert. But if you positioned it to the left so the jar hung over the edge of the hood? But if it's the short one I hear it won't fit without modification

Re: Donaldson air cleaner
Hi,
Below are pics from TM Tractor the of air cleaners with the 2 different length intake pipes.
You can measure yours, and see if it is the same as the long one.
A 1948 Cub would have come with the long one.
The long pipe was used until mid 1954.

If yours is a length in between, someone might have cut off the pipe some.
