54A blade - before and after

It's amazing what you can get done when you can't hardly go anywhere. Here's my Cub-54A blade before and after. Looks so darn purdy now I don't want to use it.

The blade should be safe pushing snow but you could pick up a second blade by itself to mount for when you need to push dirt or gravel.
I bought just a blade with other stuff once because the fellow was clearing out what he had.
After we dealt for what I thought I could use he said oh, I’ve got this blade. No thanks don’t need it. Twenty bucks! ok ya I’ll take it.
That became my gravel blade.
Oh and I also bought a second Cub trans for $20 that day.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Mike that's actually a pretty good idea, I'll have to keep my eye open for an extra blade.

I also picked up an "extra" blade in a package deal.
No front lifting parts but didn't care as it went under the belly as my grading blade.
The cutting edge was worn out but good enough to grade with.

My blade is rusted pitted pretty bad. I tried snow the year before last and it wouldn’t “roll” off the blade. I guessed at the time the pitting and rust provided too much friction but I’ve never plowed snow before either. Confirmed angle and speed with a friend he said it should have rolled but it just pushed. Did you grind or sand it smoother before painting? How about special plow Teflon infused paint? Will be restoring my blade next... thank you !

Belt sander with medium grit belt. You're not going to get all the pits out but if you can get it all clean enough you can always skim coat it with filler to smooth it out.

I spray Pam cooking oil on blade before I plow. Works great
