Misc Stuff from today

Postby Dadsfarmalls » Tue Apr 21, 2020 9:18 pm

Today my plan was to take the hydraulic pump off the 65 and fix that, but I'm pretty sure the bolts to the hydraulic tubes haven't been touched since 65 and they don't want to budge. I didn't want to ruin anything so I just sprayed them down with the PB blaster, and will try it again tomorrow, and I'm just guessing its a rinse and repeat method for a while to see if they will give.

Seeing how I had time available, I convinced my brother to come over and help me push the 62 bonneville out of the garage so I could get the 48 cub out (small garage, it's like a jigsaw puzzle pulling pieces in and out and moving things around to get what you need out). So anyway was starting up the 48 and heard something dripping and when I had the choke open I had gas coming out the drip hole of the carb and also out of the tubing connecting the air hose to the carb, so I'll add that to the list.

Lastly made a few trips between houses gathering the rest of dad's implements. I think I have everything at the house now, and to the best of my limited knowledge I believe I have:
2 mower decks
1 54A snow plow assembly & blade
1 snow plow assembly & blade thats rigged/welded
1 front set of cultivators
1 back set of cultivators
2 193 Moldboard Plows (one has the round disk and one has the mis-shaped disk)
1 Planter, he has a manual for a 171 Blackland and 172 Runner so I'm guessing it's one of those, have to figure out if I have all the parts.
1 Umbrella pole
So I got all that gathered together and put away until I can go through it better.

I've always liked those old Pontiacs! I worked on a lot of them in my early mechanic career, seemed like a lot of our farmer customers were Pontiac people. Those wheels were generally on big engine cars.

It's got the 389 engine in it. There were 421's in 62 also.
