This isn't their usual guy, not as polished or comfortable in front of the camera as "Red Beard" but he's fixing a pretty badly damaged Cub hood:

When he removed that piece from the hood and turned it over, it seemed like there was major giant pitting that rusted away from the bottom side. Wonder why. Do you think maybe from bare metal from the factory???? That's something you'd expect from battery acid.
When I told my dad I've been misplacing things and doing stupid stuff----His reply---"It only gets better"

I’m don’t have much metal fabrication experience yet, but I think I would have gotten the curve in the metal pretty close to final before starting to tack it in place. His came out just fine, though, so what do I know?
I’m toying with the idea of doing this to the top deck of my Woods 59. The ancillary parts are ok, but 50 years of weekly sand blasting the underside is starting to wear through.

I enjoyed seeing this when it appeared in my subscriptions. Nice technique on the repair but mighty hard on the doglegs. That being said, the condition (large cutout) of the gas tank lead me to believe this was a demo on an otherwise scrap piece.
I have been practicing this technique on sheet metal prior to attempting repairs / rebuild of my 48 Willys CJ-2A floor pan.
